A Year in a Single Day

Show is up from May 17th-30

These images are the story of a young woman's day being followed in the span of one year's time. The idea came about to remind the viewer that our time (no matter how insignificant it seems) is precious and should be treasured as such. As seen in the paintings, she wakes overwhelmed, surrounded by sketches of unfinished drawings in January, yet as the year/day passes on she finds purpose and peace as it then comes to full circle and she rests in reflection in December.  While ultimately alone throughout her day/year, giving a sense of her more timid nature, she has one friend that we are aware of, the cat, and we also meet a young girl who is seen three times. The cat reflects companionship of a family member or a close friend. The young girl is a reminder of innocence.
